In 2020, YNPN Chicago launched a new program for our members and the community: Professional Growth Grants. This program awards individual grants of up to $500 to current YNPN Chicago members and our network for professional development opportunities such as conference attendance, class and workshop fees, membership to professional associations, and more! Our very first cycle of funding was awarded in April 2020 to two Chicago nonprofiteers.
Bradley plans to use the award to enroll in a nonprofit management course at North Park University. This course will support Bradley to develop in his current role as Associate Director, Institutional Giving at Breakthrough and to achieve his long term career goal of becoming a nonprofit executive director.
Korbin plans to use the award toward an Associate Professional in Human Resources® certification to support her goal to obtain a nonprofit human resources position. Korbin is especially interested in issues of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
