Join us for an evening of nonpartisan discussion and education about the upcoming election and voting in Illinois. Whether you know absolutely nothing about voting or are a regular voter – here’s everything you need to know to participate in the upcoming elections!
We encourage everyone who is able in the YNPN Chicago community to vote in this November’s election. There are a number of important offices on the ballot for the November 6th Midterm Elections. U.S. Congress, Illinois Governor, Attorney General, State Representative, State Senator, and more! The decisions these elected officials make have a significant impact on you, your community, and the broader nonprofit sector.
Staff from Northwestern University’s nationally-recognized voter engagement initiative will be on hand to:
- Provide an overview of the upcoming elections
- Answer questions about the mechanics of voter registration and voting (It’s not too late to register and participate in this year’s midterms - we’ll show you how!)
- Share sample ballots and resources for educating yourself about the candidates and issues on the ballot.
Interested in doing more? We’ll also have opportunities to learn how to get involved with grassroots organizations and turn-out efforts across the city and state.
Whether you know a lot - or almost nothing - about elections, ALL are invited to come grab a drink, learn about the process, and chat with others about voting. Join us for this FREE event which features time to mix and mingle, engage in lively conversations, and share your viewpoints with other nonprofit professionals.
Attendees must be 21 and up and present a valid ID. The event will take place in private space on second floor with drinks available for purchase.
