Black Lives Matter

Updated: Sep 16, 2020

The murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor have sparked righteous outrage across the world. This past weekend, protestors demonstrated their sadness, anger, and frustration over the continued violence against the Black community.

YNPN works to enhance the vibrancy of the Chicago nonprofit community, and condemns systemic racism and oppression. We must all work towards an anti-racist future, addressing the systemic issues and internalized racism that are inside us and surround us.

We acknowledge that this is an especially difficult time for young Black professionals, who continuously witness modern-day lynchings of people who look like them. There is no amount of professional development or programming that prepares anyone for such trauma. We stand in solidarity with them. They are our co-workers, friends, and YNPN Board members.

We want to hear from you, our network. Who are the leaders and organizations that we can lift up to strengthen our community? Please let us know by filling out our survey or by sending us an email at info@ynpnchicago.org. We want to share these powerful and vital missions on our website and social media platforms. We are also accepting recommendations for our COVID-19 Resources page

Be safe. Be kind to one another. Black Lives Matter.

In Solidarity,

YNPN Chicago Executive Board
