As anyone who’s ever worked as a grant writer knows, the job involves more than just writing. Presenters Tracy Woodley (OneGoal) and Cara Clifford (Ounce of Prevention Fund) will share their experiences working on and beyond grant proposals, cultivating and stewarding relationships with funders and working across teams to build cultures of philanthropy at their organizations.
Workshop participants will walk away with tips and tricks on how to craft proposals and reports that demonstrate impact; work effectively with staff at their organizations to write grants and track progress; and move relationships with foundation staff seamlessly through the grant cycle. This workshop is for early-career grant writers, as well as professionals in other areas of the nonprofit sector who are interested in learning more about grant writing and fundraising.
- Learn tips and advice for how to write a compelling proposal that demonstrates impact
- Hear real world examples from the facilitators about how they’ve engaged and stewarded program staff at foundations
- Discuss how to build a culture of philanthropy at their organizations by increasing trust and buy-in from their colleagues
- Have time to network with grant writers from other Chicago-area nonprofits
