Job Title: Assistant Director, Foundation and Corporate Relations – 102110

Support initiatives to introduce and extend the foundation and corporate fundraising activities in the University’s professional schools, including the Harris School of Public Policy, the School of Social Service Administration, University of Chicago Law School, the Booth School of Public policy, and others. Collaborate with manager to analyze foundation and corporate interests and assess opportunities to engage these organizations. Pursue organizational philanthropy for designated University programs. Identify new ways to promote, cultivate and steward foundation and corporate engagement across campus.
Work with the team to prepare and manage the preparation of complex documents such as proposals, reports and non-routine correspondence. Draft and edit proposals. Prepare correspondence and other materials for senior administrative leaders and faculty. Help execute multiple projects concurrently, enlisting support of other staff where appropriate.
Identify foundation opportunities proactively. Pursue support for select university programs and research. Manage foundation requests through collaboration with faculty, staff and senior administrators. Write or edit a variety of complex documents, including concept papers,
proposals, briefings and correspondence for faculty and staff as appropriate. Coordinate the inclusion of foundation representatives in campus activities and special programs, both as cultivation for new grants and as stewardship for existing grants.
Perform other duties as assigned. Seek opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance, including building networks within the University and with colleagues at peer institutions.

A minimum of two years of professional work experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, sales or similar professional work experience required.
