Social and Service Networking
YNPN Chicago offers a range of events for nonprofiteers to connect in informal settings. These relaxed events happen provide members of Chicago’s nonprofit community a safe space to network with peers and grow their nonprofit network.
YNPN Chicago hosts casual, mostly unstructured happy hours in bars and restaurant throughout the city. These events provide an opportunity to connect and share experiences with fellow young nonprofit professionals.
Coffee with Nine Strangers
This perennial favorite gives professionals involved or interested in the nonprofit sector an opportunity to talk through peer-generated topics in a small group setting. The events are held at informal venues and center around a 45 minute conversations facilitated by YNPN Chicago board members on issues relevant to work in the nonprofit sector.
Throughout the year, we offer service events for YNPN members to volunteer together to network and make a difference. Past projects include making breakfast at the Ronald McDonald House and staffing the Polar Plunge with the Lakeview Polar Bear Club.
YNPN Chicago occasionally charges for events to cover our costs, with the intention to keep fees as low as possible. Individual event fees are not meant to prevent any member or interested person from attending. Therefore, if you find that a particular cost prohibits your involvement, please contact our Executive Co-Chairs to learn about your eligibility for a hardship waiver.
