What is the YNPN Chicago Executive Board?

The Executive Board is a member-driven, all-volunteer working board, consisting of 15-20 young nonprofit professionals, who apply, are selected, and commit to volunteer for a one or two year term.

The Executive Board is responsible for:
  • shaping the vision and direction of the organization.
  • establishing YNPN Chicago within the local nonprofit community.
  • recruiting and retaining members.
  • planning and executing all of YNPN Chicago's events, programs, and services.
  • and much more.

How is the Executive Board structured?
The work of the Executive Board breaks down into several primary areas:
  • Executive
  • Programming
  • Communications
  • Technology
  • Finance

Each area is coordinated by one or two chairperson(s). In addition, there are a number of At-Large Board members, who support each of these areas and the work of the board overall, by taking on specific tasks and projects on an ad hoc basis.

Chairs serve two year terms and At-Large Board members serve one year terms.
